Patterns on Tower Façade

Islamic non-periodic patterns on tower façade

This work on an metal shell for a tower façade shows the benefits of being able to programmatically produce and control Islamic patterns. Because our design algorithms understand the mathematical relations involved in the pattern, they can seamlessly integrate lightning, structural components, architectural elements and help find engineering solutions on the fly.

The geometric design is comprised of over 250,000 polygons featuring a double interlace embellishment all across the pattern, on its own a unique feat. The system uses over 20,000 light-bulbs for illumination effects, with two distinct applications: highlighting design rosettes and highlighting interweaving lines.
