Eric Broug, Author & Designer

Eric Broug is an author, educator and designer. His innovative teaching methodology enables everyone to make Islamic geometric designs, using the same tools Islamic craftsmen have used for centuries: a pair of compasses, a ruler and pencil. He frequently gives workshops and has created a number of video tutorials.

He is the author of two popular books: Islamic Geometric Patterns (2008), which has sold over 25,000 copies and is also available in Farsi and Turkish and Islamic Geometric Design (2013), the first large full-colour art book on this subject, also available in French.

He received his MA in the History of Islamic Art and Architecture from SOAS in London.
